Let’s talk savvy after-school snacks for a minute. All across the country, parents and kiddos are getting ready for fall activities. School supplies are being bought along with new backpacks, outfits and shoes. Lots of things go into making the first days of school fun and exciting for the kids. So why not make after-school snacking fun and exciting too? Well, you can with just a few sweet yet healthy ingredients your kids will enjoy.
This really isn’t a recipe like most. These Fruit Nachos are more “inspiration” to get those creative juices flowing. You have heard of 2-for-1, well this is so much better. It’s a 4-for-1 recipe! The possibilities are as endless as your imagination – just use your favorite fruits, drizzle with melted goodness and top with chopped nuts, chocolate chips, coconut flakes or other delicious toppings. Now that’s what I call a savvy snack!

Fruit Nachos
- 3 sliced apples (any variety)
- 4 tablespoons melted caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 package sliced strawberries
- 4 tablespoons melted chocolate
- 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate chips
- 3 sliced bananas
- 4 tablespoons melted peanut butter
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 package blueberries
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup finely chopped coconut flakes
- Spread sliced apples in circle around outside edge of round platter. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
- Spread strawberry slices in circle inside apple ring. Drizzle with chocolate and sprinkle with white chocolate chips.
- Spread banana slices in circle inside strawberry ring. Drizzle with peanut butter and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
- Arrange blueberries in center of platter inside banana ring. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with coconut flakes.
